Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to an exciting 2018-2019 school year!  Summer is a great time to recharge and renew our minds and spirits before the start of the school year.  This year promises to be another incredible school year with our dedicated and caring staff and faculty.  The school has been cleaned and teachers are beginning to prepare their classrooms for the return of their students.

Each year brings change and this new school year will be no different.  Three new teachers will be joining us and one new teacher aide.  Ms. Denise Filipek will be our new 8th grade homeroom teacher, Mrs. Elizabeth Rosol will be our new grade teacher, and Mrs. Beth Donahue will be our new Transitional Kindergarten teacher.  We are excited to also have another Saint Joseph Worker with us as our 2nd grade aide.

This coming year we will be concentrating much of our efforts in math with the two new math curriculums, one for Grades 1-5 and the other for Grades 6-8.  This was a gift from the Saint Anne Parish of Seal Beach, who donated more than $15,000 for these two new series.  Throughout the year we will be partnering with them through their Knights of Columbus organization.

This coming year we will also be implementing more STEM activities in the curriculum.  STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.  Teachers will receive training in STEM during their Monday afternoon faculty meetings.

Parents are the first and primary educators of their children and all of us at Saint Anne School want to partner with you in this important role that you have.  We will continue to have the First Sunday of each month as our School Family Mass at 8:45 am.  It is critical to your child's faith that they see you at Mass, that they see you pray, and that you pray with them.  As Pope Francis recently told parents, "Dear Parents, teach your children to pray.  Pray with them."

I pray with and for you as you prepare to send your children back to school with us again.  Thank you for entrusting them to our care.  May God continue to bless you and your beautiful families throughout this new school year with His blessings of peace, love and joy!

In Jesus and Mary,

Sr. Teresa Lynch, CSJ
