Dear Saint Anne School Friends,

 

Welcome to the 2011-2012 scholastic year! Saint Anne School is looking forward to an exciting year…we will be going through both the WCEA/WASC and Company of Mary evaluation processes. The purpose of these reviews is to help us to grow (the Magis, the More of Saint Ignatius of Loyola) ever stronger in our faith, service and educational values.

 

Saint Anne School follows the charism of Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac, the foundress of the Sisters of the Company of Mary who are the administrators of the school:

 

“The Company of Mary, true to its origins, places at the service of society and the Church an educational legacy acquired over more than 400 years of existence. In dialogue with reality, it has been constantly developing and updating its educational and pedagogical work. Today the Company is present on four continents: Europe, America, Africa and Asia. The educational institutions of the Company of Mary have as their MISSION:

 

To offer a Christian humanist education, from the perspective of the dialogues in faith-justice, faith-culture, faith-science and technology, has an impact on the integral formation of persons and for the transformation of society” (The Educational Project of Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac). In accord with our mission, the theme for this school year is “One Family, Worldwide, in Jesus!”

 

The administrators, teachers and staff of Saint Anne School strive to educate their students to be committed persons, with solidarity for situations of poverty, injustice, the destruction of life and the planet, etc. and who are capable of getting involved in improving the world, both in realities close to home and those that are far away, by taking advantage of the resources and all that the universality of the Company of Mary makes possible (ibid.). The students will be offered varied opportunities to extend their hands to those in need. Our teachers attend carefully to each and every child ensuring that they grow in wisdom, in age, and yes, in grace.
