                                         WELCOME

Welcome to Saint Anne School and our preschool program.  Our goal is that your child’s
first school experience be one filled with love, laughter and learning.  Our teachers and staff
are dedicated to providing your child with the best possible curriculum for today’s three
and four year old student.  The love of Christ and His teachings are woven into everything
that we do.  We hope that this year is just the beginning of many spent here at Saint Anne
School.

                            PHILOSOPHY AND GOALS                         
Saint Anne School is an early childhood education program which is designed to nurture the
development of the whole child.  Creativity and self-expression are encouraged, the
emphasis being placed on process over product. Saint Anne School embraces the
developmental theory of education for young children in the following ways:

*        Develops an awareness of the love of God.
*        Provides developmentally appropriate curriculum in a Christian environment.
*        Provides opportunities for children to develop independence and self-confidence.
*        Fosters a child’s self-image through open-ended, multi-sensory, “ hands-on”
activities.

*        Lays the groundwork of intellectual skills for future growth.
*        Provides opportunities for children to play with their peers.
*        Creates a readiness to learn.

                                      CURRICULUM

Our program is planned to help each child observe, question, participate, and listen,
thereby providing the child with a wide variety of learning experiences.  The development
process includes an open-ended curriculum which is child-centered and follows the natural
development and sequence of learning.  All activities and lessons are designed to generate
an excitement for learning without the pressure to learn.  These include:

                                  Elementary Program

As students enter St. Anne Catholic School, we strive to create memorable first
experiences in a secure family-like environment. In this setting, a strong emphasis is placed
on building a strong self-image while strengthening cooperative learning and individual
responsibility. Our goals are to develop independent learners, establish discipline with
dignity, promote creativity, and awaken justice, love and service in each student by teaching
Catholic principles and practices.

Elementary School has two classes in each grade level. The classes are self-contained with
some team teaching beginning in the fourth grade. Each kindergarten and first grade class
has a full time teaching assistant. Math, Science, Social Studies, Religion and Languages
Arts are core subjects. Music Art, Computer, Health, and Physical Education complete the
course of study and are taught by teachers specializing in these fields and in classrooms
equipped accordingly.


                                  Middle School Program

St. Anne School has developed a Middle School program that allows for the various
disciplines to receive the focus that is most conducive to student achievement. It includes
intimate group instruction, with a focus on students' abilities and strengths. Each teacher is
highly qualified in his or her specialization and strives for excellence in his or her students.
Middle School students are offered electives including Fine Arts, Computer, Spanish and P.
E. along with the core subjects of Math, Science, Social Studies, Religion, English and
Literature. Middle School Students have a variety of extracurricular activities which are
available to them including athletics and academic competitions.

Students who graduate from St. Anne are highly prepared for the high schools of their
choice Visitations to the various Catholic High Schools are a part of our 8th grade prep
program. Specialized facilities utilized by the Middle School students are: Science
Laboratory, Computer Laboratory, Music Room, Art Room, Sports Complex, and the
Learning Resource Center.
Co-Curricular Activities
St. Anne Students are given the opportunity to participate in a variety of co-curricular
activities. These are activities provided during the school day for students at SA School  
that are not part of the regular school curriculum. Some of these activities are:
1.        Spelling Bee for Middle and Elementary
2.        Yearbook - all  School Students
3.        Student Council
4.        Science Enrichment
5.        Various field trips appropriate for each grade level.

Extra Curricular Activities - Activity Policies and Eligibility Implementation.

Each student participating in an extracurricular activity must meet the eligibility standards of
St. Anne School. The implementation of this standard is as follows: Eligibility will be
reviewed every three weeks. At that time, any student who does not meet the eligibility
standard, but has passing grades, will have a probationary week in which the student will be
able to attend practices and participate in contests or games. If at the end of the
probationary week the student has not met the eligibility standard, he/she will be ineligible.
He/She will attend practices but will have to sit out the contest or game. In the event that a
student's ineligibility is due to failing grades, his/her ineligibility will begin immediately.
A student must have an overall C average with all passing grades. A student will be
immediately ineligible if he/she has any grade lower than a D. A student must have no more
than 2 N's in conduct, this includes a homeroom average, and have no U's. If a student has
a severe behavioral infraction, he/she will be removed from the activity immediately. · A
student who is ineligible remains ineligible until grades are taken during the next reporting
period. School Sponsored.
